General Information
The coralline atoll of Alphonse is regarded as one of the world’s top dive destinations seems to be “in the middle of nowhere” although it is just one hours flight from Mahé. This truly is the ultimate underwater experience with pristine, untouched dive sites and drop-off’s around the island that are famous for clear waters, unbleached corals, generally great visibility with superb tuna, shark and barracuda encounters. The sheer underwater wall is one of the most impressive features. Just 400 meters offshore, the depth of the ocean floor is close to 3km in depth. The forests of impressive fan corals are in superb condition and are a highlight for underwater photographers. The warm and clear tropical waters of the Indian Ocean will give you some memorable and fascinating dives.

The Alphonse dive sites are suitable for all categories of divers from beginners to very advanced levels. On a regular basis we spot stingrays, barracudas, sea turtles, moray eels, scorpion fish, white tip reef sharks, nurse sharks, tunas, jack fish and many more. It is a general rule that here “anything can happen” so a look out into the blue is always recommended.

Seychelles is not a mass diving destination and the Alphonse diving groups seldom exceed six people so we can guarantee that ours are the only guests diving a particular site at any one time.

Organisation
We offer you an experienced team of international diving instructors that is there to make your diving experience on the Alphonse atolls an unforgettable one. As the safety of our guests is our primary concern, all dives are guided, with a minimum of one computer per buddy team obligatory and dive boats are equipped with oxygen and Medic First Aid. All dives are non-decompression dives with a maximum depth of thirty meters.

Guests will receive a detailed briefing on their first day, touching on our specific diving rules and some of the characteristics of diving in Seychelles before the overview of the dive site for the day. Less experienced divers and those who may not have dived for a time are recommended to do the Scuba Review before embarking on the more challenging dives.

Daily dives are selected according the weather conditions, divers’ experience and special interests. Navigation times to the different dive sites are between ten and thirty minutes.

All the dives are organised as drift dives along the edge of the atoll. Divers descend from the surface to their selected depth and drift with the prevailing current along the sheer walls of the atoll at a leisurely pace. The safety stop at five meters for three minutes is obligatory and we make use of a signal buoy to surface safely. The dive boat follows the divers once they are in the water and collects them at the end of the dive. Please note drinking water is always available on the boat.
